Catalyst Communications, Inc. Corporate Update

BusinessWire, Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at 08:12

SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 1997--Catalyst
Communications, Inc., (OTC BB:CLYC), is pleased to announce that
Frontier Communications International, the fifth (5th) largest long
distance carrier in the United States, has committed its phone card
sales force to work in conjunction with Catalyst in representing the
Close Call and Cruisin' America prepaid phone cards with free
scratch-off instant win multi-million dollar sweepstakes games across
America.
Frontier, (NYSE:FRO), announced that it has closed the fifth
(5th) largest convenience store distributor in the U.S., Grocery
Supply Company Enterprises of Sulphur Springs, Texas. Grocery Supply
Company Enterprises services the inventory needs of approximately ten
thousand (10,000) retail customers.
In addition to Grocery Supply Company Enterprises, Catalyst is
pleased to announce that it has finalized agreements and is now
shipping product to L&L/Jiroch Distributing Company of Grand Rapids,
Michigan, the seventeenth (17th) largest convenience store
distributor in America. L&L/Jiroch services more than two thousand
(2,00) retail customers.
Also, Catalyst is very pleased to announce that after less than
one (1) month of selling Catalyst's Close Call product, H.T. Hackney
Co. of Knoxville, Tennessee has already begun the reordering
process. H.T. Hackney is America's fourth largest convenience store
distributor with a retail customer base of more than thirty thousand
(30,000).
More good news from Catalyst: Marsh Supermarkets, one of
Indiana's largest supermarket chains began selling Catalyst phone
cards in may, 1997. Asked to comment on the Catalyst programs, Mr.
Don Friddle, Corporate Cash Resources Manager of Marsh Supermarkets,
stated that Marsh is tremendously pleased with the Catalyst programs,
and that they have found Catalyst phone cards to outsell other phone
card programs, thus increasing Marsh's phone card profits
significantly.
Catalyst is currently working diligently to finalize distribution
agreements with McLane Co., Inc. and Core Mark International, Inc.,
respectively the first and second largest convenience store
distributing corporations in America increasing Catalyst's network of
retailers to more than one hundred thousand (100,000) outlets.
Catalyst anticipates having both of these corporations closed by late
June to early July of this year. Once the McLane and Core Mark
accounts are closed, Catalyst will be the only sweepstakes prepaid
phone card provider in the country to have an agreement with each of
the three (3) largest convenience store distributors in the United
States.
