Clinton Charging $1,400 per Handshake in Scotland

Disgraced ex-president Bill Clinton, who's traveling through Europe again this week on yet another high-priced speaking tour, will be charging well-wishers $1,400 per person to shake his hand when he visits Scotland in a few months, a Scottish newspaper claimed Friday.

"Anyone who fancies pressing the flesh with former President Bill Clinton will be able to do so when he visits Glasgow later this year, so long as they are willing to stump up £1,000 ($1400 U.S.) for the privilege," reported Glasgow's Scotsman.

Wealthy Scots are already lining up for the honor of spending time with Clinton at the December gathering, the paper said, which is scheduled to take place before he delivers a speech at the city's Hilton Hotel.

Guests who fork over the small fortune will also get their pictures taken with the money-grubbing ex-president.

"About 100 couples, paying £1,000 each, will get the chance to schmooze" with Clinton, the Scotsman said.

"The president is a people person and he is very much looking forward to rubbing shoulders with Scots at the dinner," said Stanley Lovatt, who organized the Clinton event in connection with Glasgow's Jewish National Fund.

The impeached ex-leader of the free world is reportedly slated to collect $200,000 for delivering three speeches at JNF fund-raising dinners in Glasgow, Manchester and London.

In Manchester and London, the privilege of a Clinton handshake will reportedly cost the Brits even more: $2,100 per grip.
