Condit is toast....... www.newsmax.com Saturday July 7, 2001; 7:26 p.m. EDT Condit Admits Affair with Missing Intern Beleagured California Congressman Gary Condit has finally told investigators that he had a lengthy affair with 24-year-old missing Washington, D.C. intern Chandra Levy. In an hour and a half interrogation with Metropolitan Police on Friday, Condit admitted he had a long-term sexual relationship with Levy, according to NBC News, Newsweek and the Fox News Channel. Condit is expected to issue a statement before the evening is out. Despite the admission, Metropolitan Police assistant chief Terry Gainer told reporters late Saturday that Condit is not a suspect in Levy's disappearance.
