IMHO, the difference between TLAB andCIEN is in the volume. They both had support come in after a selling climax. If the purpose of buying was to support prices temporarily, then the support stock would be thrown back in the market at the first opportunity which is usually on the technical rebound. This would increase the supply to drive prices through the climax lows, as was the case for CIEN.

However should the reaction following the technical rally hold around or above the climax lows while at the same time volume shrinks appreciably, as the case with TLAB, then that would indicate selling is complete and support is again coming in.

Now that I went public with my humble opinion, watch the rotten lousy stock make a liar out of me.
