Hi QPK, My in-laws have properties in BJ, Shanghai, Xiamen, HK, NY, Toronto and probably some other places. I do not like being an absentee landlord and so have shied away from it for the most part. Shanghai is getting quite filled up these days, between the Taiwanese and folks from other parts of China, and I expect Shanghai to overtake HK in a lot of ways within 5 years. I have never felt the urgency to participate in every party, however, and as my work mostly relates to China, I have tended to keep my assets away from China mainland. Diversification of a kind, due to lessons learnt in three generations.

Chugs, Jay
