Tim, I think the long term flash contracts helped delay and smooth out the total collapse in pricing. So I was too harsh to say, "Live and learn." They were and are a good thing. Back when AMD was making $1.25 a share, no one cared whetherthey made $1.20 or $1.30, but without the LT flash contracts, AMD would probably have a loss this quarter, as you said.

Perhaps but they have given up a lot of ASP for their market share gain.

If I recall correctly, in Q2 of 1998, ASP's collaped to something like $61. The seasonal pattern is for them to rise in Q3 and Q4, then fall in Q1 and Q2. AMD ASP's will rise this quarter based on increased notebook sales, unless the desktop Palomino turns into a "K6-3."
