" what's the story on alleged NUMA capability in the Thunder MPX? "

The current Thunder is a 760MP chipset, not 762MPX. A poster on "Raging Bull" called sdwalks, works for a largish white box manufacturer (3k units per month or so) who gets to evaluate new stuff, and claims that the forthcoming 762MPX board from Tyan will have some NUMA capability. There is supposed to be an 18 pin connector that allows you to hook motherboards together. I am not sure how this is done, it's not HT unless it is using a 4 bit port. Since that board is not due out until August (I think), we will have to wait and see.

So far, the only information that that sdwalks has gotten wrong was the power consumption for the Athlon C. And the power figure he gave was exactly the power consumption for a 1.2GHz AthlonMP, so there might have been an understandable mixup.

Assuming that this information about the Tyan boad is true, it might be that AMD and/or Tyan got tired of waiting for the API chipset (Caspian?) that was supposed to use cHT for NUMA support. I can't really blame them, Caspian was supposes to have shipped last year and there is absolutely no buzz about it, nor have any example units been seen. We were seeing 760MP boards demo'ed 12 months ago and they just starting shipping.
