Frank, good post. I believe your remark "From all that I have read on these threads for some time now, it is apparent to me that AMD had the superior product for about 18 months. What did they do with it? The answer to me is that they cheapened the best currency the company had ever had, crippled their own prospects and hurt Intel in the process" is dead-on. While I support AMD being very aggressive about getting market-share, there where so many opportunities about getting there without sacrificing ASPs, that it's really sad to see what AMD made of those. I'll never understand why AMD has to(?) sell their top-of-the-line processors for a 30% discount, without really getting anywhere, except gaining some market share in retail which will easily be lost again.
