It also brings to mind a few things.

1. When I used to go to developer conferences and training I would often speak to the systems guys and people in training. The bottom line is people are going for, paying with their own money to take NT engineer certification training. The guys running the training teach Novell, NT, etc. They say that the demand is for NT. The other's are waining.

2. Like it or not, many people have grown up on DOS and Windows. People now entering college are quite familiar with WINTEL from tinkering with the home computer. What we see now as college engineers go with NT is simply that Grove's statement winning the war for the eyeball's has merit. WINTEL has grown its market and it is best positioned to profit from it. Ahh... the power of marketing and branding. I wonder if SUN's commercial will ever come out on TV. Oh well, to little, to late.

Article from BW about MSFT and digital convergence. It will be interesting to see how this whole Web TV MSNBC high speed cable and all will eventually work out.
