While I believe that there's more potential upside than potential downside with respect to the highs of early 2000, and I don't believe NT is in danger of being run out of town, I just don't see how any rational reasoning could lead one to conclude that the trend is up.

In this day and age, where investors hope to double their investment in weeks or months (oh, how I miss those days...), a six month chart with a sharp down-slope may even be too long a period to conclude a 'meaningful' trend. If it makes you happy, I'll post a two-year chart for NT, courtesy of SI:

Nothing in this chart tells me that we are currently, on this day, in an up-trend. This is not to say that an up-trend may not be possible later this year, but the trend now is clearly down. As a holder of NT shares, I am hoping for a quick turn-around, but I don't see any fundamental evidence to support a short-term recovery.
