FKI Expects Recovery in IT Industry During Second Half of 2001
July 9, 2001 (SEOUL) -- The Federation of Korean Industries, the main lobbying group for the chaebols, or Korean conglomerates, released a positive report saying Korea's information technology industry will recover during the latter half of this year.

The FKI said the results of a recent survey in which it polled 500 executives working in the corporate IT sector indicate an optimistic outlook for the IT sector. The survey produced a BSI of 106 for the local IT industry.

The poll also suggests that both domestic and overseas demand for IT products is expected to grow during the second half, although investments are unlikely to rise sharply, IT executives said.
