Two sentences: You are missing the point! deliberately no doubt. The framers could have written two sentences but didn't. The well regulated milita is a preamble to the declarative of the right. If they had wanted to use is and a period they would have, and saved ink. The preamble is the framers way of acknowledging that private armies are a bad idea and so armed citizens need some kind of public supervision. The exact meaning of militia may be open to interpretation, but you can't just ignore it as if it wasn't put front and center into the second amendment. TP
