If you bought Dell and 13 3/8, why would you sell it at 12 7/8s when you should be selling it at 115 or so?

Regardless, you should not be using Stop Loss orders for this function. Stop Loss orders are meant to cover your positions when you are not watching them. They activate within one second of a stock price reaching your activation price. But, they will not work as fast if the stock price is already at the activation price. In these cases, please use a limit order.

soon, stop loss orders that will be immediately activated will be automatically converted into limit orders. This caused confusion earlier, but now we will notify you of this with a message to your browser...

Datek Online will be providing NYSE stop loss orders when it can match its speed on NASDAQ Stop loss orders.... Expect NYSE stop loss orders by early August....
