Edison Gas acquires exploration rights for Iran's Munir block (AFX News Limited) MILAN (AFX) - Edison SpA unit Edison Gas said it has acquired exploration rights for the Munir block in Khuzestan, Iran. The contract was signed today in Teheran by Edison Gas and the Iranian state oil company NIOC. The Munir block is about 3,200 square kilometres and is situated alongside large oil fields. Edison Gas said its initial research revealed a high potential for the Munir block. Edison Gas will act as the operator of the block.
