But if you don't have a headache and drink coffee, the constriction starts a headache; it's followed by expansion. Ah, so! That makes sense!
've read, and was told by a headache-specialist neurologist, that if you start getting one kind of headache, you can end up with a number of interacting kinds. And I have no problem believing that. Your neurologist should have a talk with most of his fellow neurologists and most internists and GPs. They don't seem to understand this.
Fiorinal or Imitrex I'll have to research Fiorinal. I can't take Imitrex because I have heart problems. Thanks.
Trigeminal neuralgia is supposed to be terribly painful. I hope you don't get those very often. Mine haven't lived up to TN's reputation so far. But they're getting worse. We shall see.
The pain is also different from vascular pain of the migraine type, i've heard I originally saw my DENTIST for what turned out to be TN. I had sharp shooting pains through my lower front teeth. I was sure I had a bad abscess. He checked things out and couldn't find anything wrong and referred me to another dentist who specialized in facial pain. She diagnosed migraine, but her treatment wasn't effective so I saw a neurologist. The immediate diagnosis was TN.
(and there are different kinds of migraines; i, for example, don't get the classic flashing lights and barfing symptoms) I have never had that either, although I have had opthalmic migraines. Your vision gets very blurry; can't read, can't drive. |
