| Though with this summer schedule, then again six hour waits may be back in vogue. Coming back from America, there's a ferry at 11:00 in the morning, another at 3:10, and another at 5:05. Then one at 8:25. If it's a busy Saturday morning, the line of people coming up from Seattle for the 11:00 may well overload both that and the 3:10 before the 11 leaves. So if you get there at 10:30, you may well find the 11 and 3:10 full and have to settle for the 5:05. Or, if youre aiming for the 5:05 and get there an hour early but it's already overloaded, you'll wait from 4:00 until 8:25. And, of course, if you miss the late ferry -- the 11:15 -- you stay on the mainland until the 6:00 am ferry leaves. If you're the hardy sort, you have a blanket in your car and get the best sleep you can. If you're not, you drive back into Anacortes and hope some motel has a room left. |
