Tim Re..I agree that the numbers of homeless increased greatly when people where released from institutions. <<<<<< Thic is a great lie put out by the liberals. The truth is that the ACLU demanded and won a court case in the late 70s in which the federal judge said it was illegal for an institution to hold a mentally ill person against his wishes if he wasn't a danger to the community. The great bastion of liberalism, the ACLU, forced the institutions to put a lot of mentally ill out on the street, and then the liberals blamed Reagon when things went bad. Sort of like how they are blaming the recession on GW, when it started under Bill's watch.
