World's largest caves discovered china.scmp.com AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scientist have discovered a series of underground caves and rivers which are believed to be the largest in China - and possibly the world, state-run media said. Xinhua reported that a team of Chinese, British and Amercian scientists discovered the hundreds of caves and rivers in Nandan county in Guangxi autonomous region. One of the caves was 2.96km long and was filled with unique pearl, ball and cake-shaped formations, Xinhua said. Many stone pearls, some up to 15cm thick, were found. "The biggest cave is almost as high as the hill itself with stalagmites and stalactites in all forms," Xinhua reported.
