Re: I guess somebody forgot to tell IBM

Paul - IBM had the 1.13GHZ PIII listed as available for about 2 months.

If Dell doesn't have big cache Xeons faster than 700MHZ, I really doubt anyone else does, either.

Dell doesn't seem to have 1.8GHZ P4, either, but I'm sure that will be remedied soon. .18 Xeons faster than 700MHZ look like they're not worth the trouble, at this point.

It looks like 900MHZ big cache Xeons are going to have to wait for the Tualatins, but that's OK, 'cause they're going to be shipping real soon, right?

The switch topology AMD uses for AthlonMP instead of the bus topology Intel uses for Xeon makes big caches less important. At least that's what the database benchmarks we've seen so far seem to indicate.

The list of SKUs that Intel needs to move to .13 RIGHT NOW is getting longer....

How do you like this photo of a 1.1GHZ Duron being sampled from the Austin FAB:

At least now we know why Intel is considering giving up on PIII waaaaay ahead of schedule.
