Infants on a plane are a different story completely. I have a ton of empathy for a mother having to deal with that. I'm not a total jerk..sheeeesh. The 5 year old kicking my seat for 2 hrs...uh uh.. the 3 year old running rampant in a grocery store, dining establishment, movie theater, etc is a totally different one. And, yes, I blame the parents. Actually, I was an extremely well behaved child. My parents wouldn't TOLERATE any public misbehaviour of any kind. I remember being 5 and throwing a tantrum at a toy store. My dad calmly just looked at me and said "enjoy your tantrum. I'll be in the car when you're ready to go". Turned and walked away. Tantrum over. Never happened again. Society as a general rule thinks something is wrong with you if you don't breed. Frankly, as a guy, I don't give a rip what people think. But many of the people, mostly women, I know who have chosen a child-free existence have serious peer/family issues to contend with. Having common ground (online and offline) is a wonderful support system to many of them.
