Air Methods Expands Service in Arizona; Contracted by Guardian Air to Add Fixed-Wing Air Medical Service


DENVER, July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Methods Corporation (Nasdaq: AIRM) announced it has extended its business partnership with Guardian Air in Arizona, expanding from bases in three cities to five. The Company has entered into a five-year contract to maintain and operate four medically equipped Beech King Air E-90 fixed-wing aircraft effective August 1, 2001. These aircraft will provide services to communities throughout Northern Arizona and surrounding states and will be based in Flagstaff, Parker and Kingman. It was recently announced that the existing rotor-wing contract in Flagstaff and Bullhead City was expanded to include a third Bell 407 aircraft operated from Cottonwood. With the expansion of the helicopter services contract and the addition of the airplane services contract, the Company was also able to secure a five-year extension of the existing services contract.
