Posted Tuesday, July 10, 2001 Plaintree completes $360,000 order of optical wireless links By InBusiness Media Network staff Plaintree Systems Inc. has ordered $360,000 worth of the Wavebridge 500 Series of optical wireless links from one of its Latin American value-added integrators, the Ottawa-based company said Tuesday. Unlike microwave and radio frequency systems the Wavebridge optical wireless links do not require licensing nor do they experience the problems of RF frequency interference or overlap. The value-added integrator, who has remained unamed is one of the largest service providers in Latin America, and had just completed its test and evaluation of the Wavebridge 500 series. "We have decided not to disclose the name of this particular VAI as we find our competitors have been more than a little interested in the partnerships we have developed around the world," David Watson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Plaintree said in a release. ottawabusinessjournal.com
