Dear MSB, As for men, my husband says "you stop looking when you're dead." Looking is natural and wonderful, enjoy it. Acting upon your impulses would be wrong, when you have made a vow to be faithful, but I think looking is just fine. In fact I sometimes point out beauties to my husband. Nature made women to raise young, there is no advantage to us in promiscuity. Once we are pregnant, no amount of sex is going to have any effect on the spreading of our genes. We are consigned to waiting, and being selective, as our opportunities to produce offspring are rare compared to a man's. A man can produce offspring continually into late age providing he can find female partners. So of course nature would select men who take the maximum number of females, limited of course by a few other variables like the reward offspring recieve by provision from a male. I think it is so sweet that you feel guilty but I think it would be healthier if you learned to accept your feelings, just my opinion. I have always felt that we don't need to feel guilty for our thoughts, only our actions. I know that some religions do not agree with this and I remember Jimmy Carter's discussion about lusting in his heart, but I personally don't agree with that. |
