Hummingbird launches Genio Suite(TM) 4.7

Genio Suite 4.7 builds on Hummingbird's ongoing commitment to universal data exchange solutions by offering expanded support for mainframe platforms. Genio Suite now provides DBMS and middleware support to Oracle 8.1.7 as well as enhanced mainframe connectivity obtained through the inclusion of an updated version of DETAIL, from Striva Corporation. DETAIL enables Genio Suite to access non-relational data such as VSAM, KSDS and ESDS files. MVS Tape, Adabas V6 and V7, AS/400 logical files and flat files from any platforms are also included. Genio Suite also provides native access to various databases, including IBM DB2 and IBM IMS and features a new datamap wizard which makes accessing non-relational data even simpler for the end user.
Other connectivity enhancements in Genio Suite 4.7 include a new ODBC interface available on Unix platforms. In addition, Genio Met(at)Data Explorer 4.7, Hummingbird's metadata management solution, can now be used through Hummingbird EIP(TM) (Hummingbird Enterprise Information Portal) 4.0.3.
