Bush wanted to be Baseball Commission but was rejected. That is when he took George Schultz of Bectel up on a private offer which was made to him to run against Anne Richards with the full financial support of the oil-energy-construction cabal perhaps headed by Bectel and their elite cronies who are a private company not subject to SEC probing. Another is Brown+Root. Both the architects of the Vietnam War who actually pushed the escalation. Another huge boondoggle which created debt we are still paying off. Three big Texas-inspired rip-offs; Vietnam, S+L and now Energy-Gate. - Anyway Bush said yes even though he had bno experience and they poured money into his campaign and defeated Richards. Ever since they have been grooming and financing him for President. He is their front man, their poster boy, their good-looking masculine swaggerer tool basically. No surprise half Bush's cabinet are crony CEO's and energy executives. Or that the lobbyists get all the regulatory jobs. It is a massive stealthy Texan coup d'etat financed by more money than McCain ever had a chance of raising. Bush had 50 million (not including all the side soft money souces including foreign money) to sart with and McCain never had a chance. The GOP also chose Bush because he was more telegenic, but inside he is a hollow-hearted man who poses as compassionate for political reasons but really isn't at all. You can like him if you like but his people have just engineered the largest ripoff scheme in the history of politics and it is still going. They'll all get fat at the troughs but it will also be their collective downfall. It's a much more corrupt administration than Nixon's and that will become clear to all as time goes on.
The other thing is Bush has stupid ideas. Star Wars (doesn't work, too expensive, allies hate the idea). Environmental pollution (not only short sighted but extremely destructive and a trrible example for the world). Faith-Based Government Funding. Falwell and Robertson don't even want it as they will have to share the money with every cult, whacko group, charlatan, Black Muslim and Gay Mens Choir in the country. It will also set them up to be audited by the federal government and will reveal their perhaps illegal political activities. Faith-Based is dead on arrival. Now Bush is saying he's for a Patient's Bill Of Rights. Pure hogwash. He's 100% on the side of the insurers and is just trying to save face on another issue which could kill him. Corruptin, stupidity, hard-heartedness and dishonest feel-good spin and photo ops. That is all we have gotten from Bush. Even the GOP's wonderful tax break will mainly end up in the pockets of the energy cartel, as Bush himself suggested by telling people "use your tax break to pay your energy bills". What a big scam. |
