That's what it says, and that's all it says! The militia is a good idea.
Nonsense, not only is it bad grammer, but nowhere else does the Constitution make simple statements of preference without any guideline or guarentee.

Do you see sentences in the Constitution such as
"Flowers smell pretty"
"Bald Eagles are really neat birds"
"Beaver hats are superior to powdered wigs"

Of course not! The founding fathers weren't that stupid. They also didn't put in some little ditty about militias being a great club to join. They but in a preamble to the right to bear arms to illustrate the type of supervision required for this less than absolute right.
