Re: 7/9/01 - [DAL] Delta employee alleges defamation and sexual harassment against supervisor
ASA Airlines Possible Lawsuit!!! by: legalpursuit 07/09/01 10:44 am Msg: 36298 of 36349 This letter is to inform you that a supervisor at your outstation in Chattanooga is about to have a serious legal matter on his hands. The supervisors name is ****** ********, and I will warn you and your company that all parties will be involved.
****** ******** is a runaway train going down a pair of tracks that will soon lead him to the unemployment line. This man has continually verbally abused employees, including myself, using such terms as idiot, dumb ass, moron, bitch, and whore. He regards all flight attendants as pieces of meat and I quote “I’d make that bitches ankles look like ear rings,” or “I fucked that slut till her head popped off one time.” As vulgar as these sayings are I felt they must be mentioned in this letter, because *** uses them so often.
He also continually blames any problems the station might occur on someone else other than himself, and unprofessionally harasses that person in front of his peers. I suppose to show authority, but instead he shows that his is not a type of manager that Chattanooga needs to keep the morale of employees high. Without a comfortable level a morale, you will soon see ASA airline employees dropping like flies in order to stay away from the torture we endure everyday from ****** ********.
It also should be known that several female employees of the station have made comments to many other employees regarding ******’s constant sexual harassment of them, as well as men who are constantly being called queers, fags, and switch hitter.
At this time, I am in the process of getting all parties involved to collaborate on this issue, and put their particular incidents in writing for official use.
I as much as any of my other employees understand the importance of team effort, and as our station statistics show, we are very good – not because of ***’s regular quote “This station would be shit without me, cause David Wrightsman does not know what the hell is going on!” I must say, after being alone many times without supervisor observation that things have ran very smoothly, and the ASA pilots should agree with this. We are very good at what we do, yet we all try our best when bidding time comes around to take shifts we really do not want, in order to avoid ***.
I will end this letter now, until I receive feedback from it, but I repeat, my personal friends whom are attorneys, feel that *** should be fired, and go through some type of self control course, or be transferred to a station where he has no authority. As for the other employees, I have discussed this with some of them, and they will stay on as long as *** goes; otherwise, within two months, Chattanooga will be losing at least six employees and I will use the media to the best of my ability to bring the true problems of ASA out in the open. This will also cause thousands of passengers to be left out in the warm summer air, yet with no ramp or gate crew to assist them.
Thank You For Your Time, And I Hope This Is Given Immediate Attention! ASA CHATTANOOGA TEAM MEMBER

Re: ASA Airlines Possible Lawsuit!!! by: jds780 07/09/01 11:51 am Msg: 36300 of 36349 Who do you think reads this board... The people you wish to talk to have no clue this board even exists.. All you have done is opened a discussion that will get yourself in a world of turmoil.. No one on this board gives a good goddamn about ****** ********... Take it to human resources not to a Delta message board with a bunch of slammers to make fun of you and/or call you names like slacker, wuss, and no-load... Take your whining elsewhere, we have all had supervisors we disliked... I have and I just took the initiative to bid out and move on... Do the same, it is much easierthan getting yourself into trouble with a defamation lawsuit...

Re: ASA Airlines Possible Lawsuit!!! by: chamgr 07/09/01 11:57 am Msg: 36301 of 36349 This response will be short. I see you are not willing to sign your own name. Past and present tense is used in your letter so I do not know if you are currently employeed. If you are currently employeed, I hope you would be an adult about your concerns and come speak to me directly. Otherwise, be careful about what you post on this public board.
Thank you David Wrightsman Station Manager Chattanooga, TN

We love to FIGHT and it shows by: mp1953 07/09/01 01:36 pm Msg: 36303 of 36349 What a great place to work! First they bash their pilots for getting a contract and the rest of the employees feel cheated. The pilots ignore this and leave the message boards. It gets too quiet for the whiners and they scorn the departure of the pilots. But wait! What's going on in Chattanooga? Someone gets out on the wrong side of bed and the war is on! Woolman must be turning over in his grave! This is better than the afternoon soaps.I can't wait for the next response. How about another injuction from ATL. It kind of worked with the pilots. Hmm!

Re: ASA Airlines - Mr. Wrightsman by: lj1072 07/09/01 09:12 pm Msg: 36324 of 36349 Mr. Wrightsman,
When reading your response to the possible lawsuit at ASA from either a current or former employee, I couldn't help but notice how curt and condescending you came across.
The person writing this letter is either lying or telling the truth. If they are lying, you will probably not hear anything further on this matter and shame on the person who would use the internet to purposely destroy someone else's reputation.
If this person is telling the truth and you are who you say you are, I would hope you would be a little more concerned and aware of what is going on with your employees. If I worked for ASA (which I don't and have never worked for ASA), it would be very difficult for me as an employee to approach someone with the attitude shown in your response.
As much as I hope the statements concerning the person in question are untrue, they do hit close to home. I hope you are keeping an open mind and investigating this at the present time.
LJ
PS: Legalpursuit if you read this, you might want to try a different venue to air your complaints. Best of Luck to legalpursuit and chamgr on settling this matter.

Re: ASA Airlines Possible Lawsuit!!! by: jds780 07/10/01 09:19 am Msg: 36336 of 36349 YEP !!!!! And what are you ?? I do not need to air my grievances with my boss on a public message board, I can bring them to his/her attention in a face to face meeting, or if that does not work, in a meeting with Human Resources. Why ?? Because that is the way the system is supposed to work and in my case it works fine. Mr. Legalpursuit on the other hand wishes to slander a persons name by way of publicity. I do not see any point in this as it will only make it worse for him/her. How ?? The person is cowering behind an alias to get his/her message out instead of taking the bull by the horns. He/she should not be wasting time on this board but should be using the Chain of Command to take this greivance to the next person in that chain. Why not confront the supervisor and air the feelings, if that is not working why not knock on the door of the Manager of this Department, and if that does not work why not follow the same path up to higher offices. If this person is so cowardly to think that not confronting the situation is the proper way to get the resolution, then I say grin and bear it until time to bid and get into a different area. There are 3 ways to get resolution. Two of those ways are the proper way and one is the wrong way. Mr. Legalpursuit has gone down the wrong path so far. Perhaps he will choose to change paths soon
