you still miss the point, and dont get it drop it you give orders for being successful some cannot because they lack the control to follow orders it is about control in following and sticking with a plan
you prescribe a plan some have great difficulty overcoming the emotions involved and thus fall off the plan why is that so difficult for you to understand?
nothing wrong with the 401k, per se but it has been applied so widely to the American public and a solid pct of the public (say 20%) cannot leave it alone to grow over time they tinker, they panic, they screw it up
let me give a concrete example suppose I lay out a plan for a person to get dinner every day a man or woman must walk a fine line for 50 yds it must be on a railroad track, single rail the purpose is to maintain control and be rewarded if the person falls off, then no dinner a simple plan and prescription, right? I have done this many times, once going 250 yds I have no trouble with this task, since I am agile physically so I would "get my dinner" almost every day, with an occasional bad day I can think of a few dozen who would never get a single dinner but it is a simple plan
my analogy is that the 401k is an investment railroad track many people can succeed in maintaining composure, longterm focus, patience, and balance many regard the task to encompass a very wide rail but some will fail with the 401k prescription those people would benefit from a pension style
laying out your plan and disagreeing is either - ignorant of the problem - arrogant to be above the problem
drop it, attend an AA meeting as an observer and THEN get back to me on the subject I am not being facetious
have you ever observed a child impatiently trying to grow a flower? some will just pick and pick and tinker until it dies
