We're not communicating well here Ray. There is a need for Government. I never said there wasn't. But road, sewers, vaccines etc. were not paid for with SS money. Some of the above also came at the expense of back breaking work by the citizens who earned paltry sums of money. When it comes to social security I say hands off! The government is the government. It's not a place where I would choose to save my money. I understand the need for taxes but I don't understand THEIR need to control my retirement. Their job is to regulate not dominate.

Correct me if I am wrong.....but isn't that stat of 10,000 controlling 98% of the wealth a current one? I think it is. So it begs the question that if what we have now is so damn good why does that stat exist? SS needs to be fixed and I for one don't intend to allow this market downturn to be used to scare me away from demanding that my money is in my name. They can spend my taxes as they see fit but SS is off limits.
