I do not see how it is possible to both receptive to different ideas and wedded to the absolute truth of scripture. One can have an opinion that something is absolutely true (based on scripture or whatever else you want to base it on), but still be open to arguments or evidence to the contrary. If you deny all arguments against you beliefs without even considering them then you are close minded, but you can have a developed and consistent belief without being close minded. Tim
