Great analogies Jim. No matter how one tries to apply a well laid out plan, there are going to be those who try to tweak it. A few will achieve varying levels of success, many will watch in horror at their dismal results. Some will stick to the prescribed plan to the letter. It will reward them in a prolonged bull market. It will cripple many in a fierce bear market too. Unfortunately, just like with swing & day traders, there will be LTB&H's (at least they think they are) who are weak hands. They will impulsively buy, buy, buy at the top & sell, sell, sell at the bottom. It's human nature to be affected by fear & greed.......... no matter how well though out the original plan. I'll give you this JW; You have had the courage to explore this personally. Even though you have a great ability to see the macro & micro issues as well as anyone I know, you have confronted a flaw in how you implemented it into your investing style. Very few have the ability to do that, to their own peril. Thank you for sharing those humbling revelations with us. I'm sure it was not easy. It is my sincere wish that you can find a way to make this epiphany(?) work out for you & that success is the end result. Ö¿Ö
