Novatel does not have a CDPD network, Verizon and AT&T are the network operators. If NVTL goes under, how does that impact my ability to continue accessing my Verizon CDPD service using my Minstrel S? It only impacts my ability to get customer/technical support and future products. I will still be able to use the modem, however. I agree with your points about MCOM. I also questioned whether sufficient people would pay for that type of access to justify the buildout expense. However, the same could be said of Omnisky. Wireless is not mature enough (I think) for a consumer-based market. Wireless will start to gain traction in areas where businesses can gain traction. For example, mobile credit authorization. Mobile merchants doing a sufficient volume of business will be able to quickly pay for a wireless credit authorization solution by the amount that they will save doing card-present transactions. That's a wireless play that makes sense. And CDPD is plenty fast enough for this application.

You seem to feel that Novatel has intentionally dissed the Palm community and should be punished for that offense. That part I just don't quite understand!
