It's surprising that MSFT is up after-hours on the back of their preannouncement of those big investment losses. In most of the past several quarters, it was only investment gains that allowed MSFT to grow earnings at all. Now these after-hours gamblers are ignoring their big losses. Is it possible that MSFT will change its accounting practice this quarter so that the investment losses will not appear on their Official Earnings number?

If I were a MSFT shareholder, I would gleefully sell into this irrational rally, and pocket a tidy profit.
