ScanRegistry scanreg.exe/autorun Leave this one alone. It backs up your registry and automatically restores a good copy if something wrong is detected on startup. Taskmon A lot of people suggest leaving this one alone as well. It monitors program use. Disknag This is a little program that reminds you to make your backup diskettes. It is not necessary in Startup. tcasutiexe These are associated with the 3COM diagnostic module (3COM NIC Doctor). I have no idea what it does but you can always uncheck it and if something goes wrong put the checkmark back in. adaptecdirect Allows you to drag and drop files onto your cdr. scheduling agent Keep this if Task Scheduler is being used. If not, it can be eliminated. win32sl I don't know. machine debug manager used to provide application debugging in Office programs. Unless you use Script Editor you won't need this one. tc
