Paul, It was great meeting you at the Intel stockholder's meeting. Thanks!
Just returned from Denmark. Cyrix is trying to sell their 6x86 chips installed on Pentium motherboards. Everybody wants Pentium PC's, so a little sales trickery is used.
I enjoy the great amount of knowledge that you keep displaying in regard to the PC arena. Being about 95% invested in Intel, plus another 95% of borrowed money (also invested in Intel), I am totally convinced that I can continue to sleep well at night and look forward to 100 to 200% gain for 1997. Things are looking brighter than ever. To me it does not matter if Intel stays flat for 3 to 4 months; competition it seems is almost non existent, and those of us that have seen the light will get "filthy rich". (It takes 100mil in my book to reach that goal, so it will take a few years).
Enjoy a good laugh: Letter to US News and World Report, June 23, 1997 PC problems: I fail to understand why market research firms can't understand the consumer market for PCs {"Take This PC and..." May 5}. Most of the people I know who don't have a PC don't want one. The 37 percent of American households with PCs today will probably not go much higher than 45 percent. Microsoft and others in the industry would do well to improve what they are selling before trying to capture more of the consumer market. It just isn't there. signed ALBERT O. DYKE, Chandler, Arizona
I think that many made simular predictions in 1950 in regard to TVs. It is rather hilarious when you take into account where he lives. If Chandler is anything like Rancho Rio, I would imagine a boomtown of major proportions.
Best to all, humble carl |
