Empire Energy Perforates Leon County Well, Continues with Cotton Valley Sand Completion
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Jul 11, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Empire Energy Corporation (OTCBB:EECI) reports today that completion operations on an upper Cotton Valley Sand interval in its Bedsole No. 1 well, have commenced. Empire operates and owns a 95% Working Interest within the Bedsole Gas Unit, located in Leon County, Texas. The results of the initial completion activities, which began on June 13, are encouraging, indicating that formation characteristics are consistent with the log interpretations and are conducive to economic gas production from the targeted upper Cotton Valley Sands over the interval from 12,810 - 12,920.
A net 42' of the target formation was perforated, acidized and swabbed in preparation for a reservoir stimulation (sand-frac), which is scheduled to occur the week of July 16. Initial testing following the acid treatment yielded consistent flow, indicating adequate porosity and permeability, necessary for achieving successful stimulation. Once the upper 42' section is hydrofractured, pressure and flow testing will be performed in order to determine ultimate recovery and optimum daily production rates. Further information will be made available as progress is made. |
