GNSL launches another product:
>>ANN ARBOR, Mich., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Genomic Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: GNSL - news), a leading, worldwide supplier of automated solutions for genomic and proteomic research, announces the expansion of its GeneMAP(TM) product line with new Apoptosis pre-printed microarrays. The arrays will be available the third quarter of 2001.
``Our newest Apoptosis arrays help researchers get closer to the cell functions they are studying,'' notes John D'Errico, Ph.D., Global Product Manager for Genomics. ``Our objective is to offer very targeted arrays to researchers who are interested in looking at specific cell functions.''
According to Dr. D'Errico, not all genomic researchers require high- density arrays, but, rather, more focused system arrays. ``They know the genes they want to study -- and these pre-printed arrays enable them to focus their work on genes involved in Apoptosis -- the genes controlling programmed cell death,'' says Dr. D'Errico.
``These new Apoptosis arrays are the latest addition to our expanding GeneMAP product line,'' he adds. ``These pre-printed arrays provide researchers rapid access to microarray technology while eliminating the time and expense of library management.''
GeneMAP is one component of the larger, fully integrated GeneTAC(TM) Biochip System from Genomic Solutions. This highly automated system enables the user to focus on research results rather than dwelling on technical competencies. The system provides gene expression analysis, DNA library management, microarray production, hybridization, microarray imaging, microarray analysis and results reporting. Genomic Solutions' in-house contract research laboratories also provide a wide range of genomic research services.<<
