I guess they will go back to ohm meters and oscilloscopes for testing and provisioning lines. Pliers, magnifying glass and minitorch should suffice for attaching fibers. If you put enough Chinese on the job, the yields don't really matter right? We need more shafts of light ASAP. I like it.
