The Long Term Capital Management folks had some of the best quantitative models in the world. Those models seem to have helped them attract investors, but didn't help their actual results much. Just because a model is based on numbers, that doesn't mean it's right. Just because a model is based on gut feel, that doesn't mean it's wrong. Katherine
