Sure. I'll watch a movie with my kids, but as a rule the TV is off. It was not meant to be an absolute statement. TV does indeed waste time on inane programming. Schoolwork, hobbies, cars, life, is busy enough without sitting gathering moss on one's posterior by watching the tube.
