"P4 seems to be scaling with frequency MUCH better than the K7." It simply reflects the LOWER IPC (Instruction per clock) rate of the Pentium 4. Final result depends on overall efficiency of the memory subsystem (DRAM/L2/L1+AGP+IDE) and drivers, where Athlon is lagging by about 40% by now. However, at 1600 (WS=~73.4) it will beat the P4@2000 on this benchmark (heavily "net-burst" optimized BTW). - Ali
