Yes Peter made a good point, but AMGN is from California, which has the largest congressional delegation in the US. That means that their congressman have a great deal to say over both budgets and appropriations, so I don't think that a new commissioner would want AMGN as an enemy. I think that it is a non-issue unless this guy holds petty grudges. I would guess that the new commissioner would see this a the big time, and I would think that he would not want to make enemies since he will need a job when he leaves. I would really like to see a serious biotech professional at FDA, as it could only mean good news for the sector as a whole and also PRCS.
