>It seems AMD had a small increase in market share and Intel chips prices have gone down a lot (yes so have AMDs) so unless unit growth has been strong this Q or Intel's cost cutting has worked wonders Intel's profits would have to be down.< What you are overlooking is that Intel has only been slashing the prices of the P4, which hasn't been selling very well. Price cuts on the popular Celeron and PIII have not been nearly as great.
