liberals believe in the perfectibility of man- -that Utopia is actually achievable There you would be wrong. Liberals believe that all people are different and that they must aim for the best that they can be and not some arbitrary goal. Of course we also like to protect ourselves from others whos views of different are too different. You can't even say what that is because to a certain extent there are different ideas of what is acceptable for each person. Hence liberal try to maximize freedom while maintaining responsiblility.
