According to industry sources, combining the VIA686B southbridge and AMD762 Northbridge is, at this moment, the only way to build a relatively cheap Dual Athlon MP board. Industry sources told us that for example MSI's K7D Master will not arrive in August as a result of these incompatibilities. Several Taiwanese motherboard manufacturers are working closely with AMD to solve the incompatibilities. It is not clear when AMD762 + VIA686B based boards will arrive (End of September?). In other words, Tyan's Thunder board remains - for now - the only AMD760 MP solution. In our experience, Tyan's Thunder board is a very stable board.
