The entire subject is murky, which is why I reserve judgement. I find arguments on either side of the issue to be persuasive in one manner or the other.

The issue isn't when LIFE begins. One of my skin cells are alive, and genetically human, but that's not quite what we mean. Being genetically human is not a reason for protection - or else the slippery slope slides back to being PRO-SPERM and PRO-EGG. The pressing and controversial question is - when are rights acquired, ie when is one considered a PERSON? To answer that, one must ask what are RIGHTS? Well, just two of the biggest questions of ethics. No problem, right? <GG>
