Sig
That was very well thought out and presented.
We, my wife and I, run three types of accounts. A fixed income which we had professional help with REITS, bonds convertibles, strips etc, this is our largest and will not can not touch. With my wife in her account we try to find stocks that we belive in that will try to give us long term returns that is greater than the no.1 account. My account has turned into a swing trading account. where I try to catch short term trades. This bear has not been kind to us at all.
I think yesterday I got caught up in the moment and was hoping for the old days. I really don't know if the old days will come back for a long time. Remember when we thought 7 percent to 9 percent a year was really good on stocks and bonds where what 3-5%.
Greenspan IMHO sent this economy reeling with his stupid rate hikes. I now think that he wanted to destroy the wealth that the middle-class was creating in their 401s'.
I think it was Wed. that was the hardest for me. I was really down when the markt. was at the bottom of support.
This mrkt. is going to take a long time to heal some of these wounds that people have. To be a LTB&H in this market is completely stupid and fool hardy too many forces against you at this time. This IMHO is a bear market and until proven otherwise and see some signs of improvement. What I don't like right now is we know the manufacturing jobs are in the tank. But now it seems to be spreading to the service sector which is really not good.
Your points 1-4 should be printed out.
Thanks for that list of stocks. I can't say that I know about some of them and will take a closer look at them today. I am trying to come across on this board that if we are going to have the returns that we want, we have to go after other stocks, the old horses are tired and the returns are not going to be there for awhile.
Off of another board I was lead to this last night.
