Eric. I do hope Nokia, Qualcom and Ericsson are working together to get the wireless industry moving forward again because working 3G systems should set off an explosion in applications and new products.. Dr. Irwin Jacobs was the first to publicly vocalize the proposition that Qualcom and others would be injured by delays in W-CDMA when he realized that the Europeans were insistant on fielding their own variation of CDMA, even if they took a very long time to do so. He took this position even though he knew that |the CDMA developed by Qualcom was vastly superior to W-CDMA and he believed that Asynchronous W-CDMA would not work well in a mobile environment.
