I recollect Clinton saying "I never...", then Condit backtracking the same way. What strikes me as very odd, is that Condit has shown no emotion whatsoever that his former lover has disappeared. It seems as if it's business as usual. He smiles at the cameras, talks only when forced to, agrees to things that he already knows are not relevant, obstructs those that may be relevant. He is demonstrating at every turn that his words are not to be trusted. Why is the police believing everything he says?

My gut feel is that he should continue to be the prime suspect, but the police also needs to explore other possibilities (eg murder by someone else). I frankly doubt very much that Chandra would have elected to "disappear" of her own volition - she seemed quite happy in the last days prior to her disappearing, looking forward to her return to pick up her diploma. She had everything going for her and there was no evidence of depression or problems. I really think there must have been some sort of foul play.
