That 13.5% 5-year ROE for SGI is pretty mediocre, isn't it?
For a non-dividend-paying stock, ROE is the real growth indicator
--nowhere near the 30% revenue growth after all those mergers.
We might've gotten 13.5% with a lot less risk on second mortgages.
Good posting on valuations--SGI sure doesn't look like one of the
hottest computer companies anymore.

On another topic, the latest 10-Q says they reset employee stock
options on April 23. They didn't do it for senior management and
the new options are for fewer shares. Seems like a reasonable thing
to try and stop the brain drain.

Also, the 10-Q indicates that another $3M of overvalued inventory
will impact gross margins this quarter. I wonder if we'll keep
hearing about Cray expenses in F98 or if margins will ever hit 50%
again.
